What's So Bad With Being Single on Valentine's Day?

Hey everyone! I hope you're all having a pretty great week. Now we all know Valentine's Day, also known as "Doomsday" for the single folks, is drawing near and with it comes all the social pressures. The perfect outfit, the perfect restaurant, the perfect gift, the perfect date; all the requirements to survive the day and not come off looking like the ultimate loser. Well, I think it's all bologna.

Where's the rule book that says you must have a man/woman to go out with every February 14th? Where does it say that if you're single on V-day you should be holed up at home in your pj's with ice cream watching a sad love story on television? No book I've read. Valentine's Day is a day to celebrate love and EVERYONE, single or in a relationship, should feel comfortable and happy to enjoy it.

If you have a significant other on V-day, great! Enjoy the day with him/her. If you don't currently have a significant other, make the day great for you too! Plan activities or dinner with the people you love which could include your mom, dad, brother, sister, best friend, etc. It would be very thoughtful and I'm sure greatly appreciated by your loved ones. Be thankful for the blessing they are in your life and know that the time will come when you too will be sharing the day with your significant other. As a single gal myself, I can tell you I will definitely be out somewhere on Valentine's Day, probably with my sisters, eating and drinking up a happy storm. Toodles!
